Mesh Refinement Windows
1. Overview
Mesh refinement windows are used to specify an area of the device where mesh elements will be additionally refined.
Mesh refinement windows can only be used to specify a maximum mesh size.
Where mesh windows overlap with other areas of mesh refinement (near the metallurgical junction, oxide boundary or other mesh windows) the smallest size hint will be used.
Whether mesh windows are shown in the main device view can be toggled via the top menu by selecting View -> Windows -> Mesh.
note
Mesh Refinement windows can only be used with unstructured type meshes.
2. Usage Instructions
To define a mesh window:
- From the
Menu, selectDefine->Window->Mesh.

- Use your cursor and mouse buttons to define a rectangular mesh window.

- Once the window's shape has been defined the mesh window's properties dialog box will appear. This can also be edited later by right-clicking on the window and selecting
Properties. Use this dialog to set the window's properties.

- Generate the mesh and the specified refinement will be applied to all mesh elements within the box.
